StF8 done and gone. What a successful comeback of a legendary (crappy) OP. Thanks to everyone that came and helped make this one of the best.

California Bill against replica guns.

California assemblyman DeLeon has put forward bill SB798,  This bill, if passed, prohibits, "...the sale, manufacture, transportation, receipt, or distribution of imitation firearms for commercial purposes," unless, "...the entire exterior surface of the device is white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink, or bright purple, either singly or as the predominant color in combination with other colors in any pattern, as provided by federal regulations governing imitation firearms, or where the entire device is constructed of transparent or translucent materials which permits unmistakable observation of the device's complete contents, as provided by federal regulations governing imitation firearms."

This bill will affect not just airsoft guns in california, but any that are shipped THROUGH california.  Thus meaning that many, if not all, guns sent to retailers after this bill passes will be required to be painted in ome form of 'safety' color.

There is only 3 more days before the bill is voted on, and we need people to contact the assemblymen in california to voice the fact that airsoft guns are not toys, and should not be treated as such.  That airsoft guns deserve, and require the same amount of safety precautions as the real thing.  you can find all of the necessary information to contact those people in the link below.  Please be polite, and courteous when contacting the politicians.  But also do not believe them if they tell you the bill has been dropped, and that we can rest easy.  They need to understand we will not be walked over, or ignored.  The more people contact them, the better.

Logon problems fixed??

I think I may have resolved the Cookies/Login issue.  However, you will need to clear out the cookies. (If you know how to do it on a per cookie basis, you may be able to get away with not clearing all your cookies out, in which case, make sure you remove cookies for '6mmwarfare.com, .6mmwarfare.com, and www.6mmwarfare.com')

I can't be sure this has completely resolved the issue, but I hope it has.  (I've tested it on IE, Opera, Firefox on both windows and MacOSX, as well as Chrome, and Iron.  As far as I can see, moving across the site does not mess with anything (Doesn't log you out.)  let me know if you see any more problems

Site Login Problems?

Some of our users are complaining about not being able to log into the site, and staying logged in.  If you are having this problem, let me know.  I will need to know some things, so if you can supply them before hand, that would be great.  You can email me at refuge@6mmwarfare.com

I need:

Your username

your OS (Linux, Windows, MacOSX, etc)

your Browser of choice. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, etc).

Your Particular problem. (Can't log in, can't stay logged in, can't see shoutbox, can't login to forum, but can to the front page, etc)

I will attempt to resolve the problems, but so far, I've not come across a problem, where I couldn't (personally) fix it by wiping out cookies.  If you are having problems, trying downloading a different web browser than the one you usually use.  (If you always use Firefox, try IE, if you use both of those, try Opera, or Google Chrome.  Try something you don't currently have installed, and when you install it, tell it to NOT import any settings from other browsers, that way you don't get any cookie overlap.

Gallery is now online!!!

The Photo Gallery is officially online.
User Member Albums are now working. you can now upload your pics to your profile on the site. Every user has a quota of 500Mb of photos, so I recommend you don't upload them in RAW format. ;)

The Portal system is back to working properly.  Almost thought I was going to have to move to another system just to make cookies work properly.  Turns out, firefox is very picky, and unyielding when it comes to cookies (and people wonder why I hate it :P)  Oh well, it's not like IE is exactly standards compliant either.  Firefox can't differentiate a cookie from www.6mmwarfare.com and a cookie from. www.6mmwarfare.com/forums.  It also can't understand one being 6mmwarfare.com, and the other being www.6mmwarfare.com.  I had to con the forum software into acting like it was the main page, and give out cookies that way.

BTW, if you're still having issues, clear out your cookies (at least for the site)

Anyways, you should be able to get into the site completely without any trouble.  Sorry for the delay.  I'll still be tweaking stuff in the background over the enxt few weeks, and should also be rolling out the new gallery soon too, but for the moment, we're back to 100% operational.

And.. We're back!

Okay, sorry about the delay there, but it's been a terrible ordeal with this.  We've been trying to do everything within our power to bring back any data we've lost, however, it's not been possible to recover pretty much anything after Jan 30th, 2008.  This means we've lost about 50 users (

), and countless number of posts.  This is a terrible loss, and actions have been taken to attempt to never allow this to happen again.  (Turns out that, though I had several manual backups, they were all backups of a corrupted database, and therefore couldn't be imported back into the system.  The last good backup I had was from january.  I've spent much of this time attempting to bring back at least the users, but I was unable to get them to import, without also causing data corruption in the database.  This is a terrible loss for us, but as I said, actions have been taken to prevent this form happening in the future.)  If you cannot log in to the site, you may need to re-create your account on the site, as we lost about 50 users.

New things for the site:

  • Brand new server, which is much faster, has more RAM, more Disk space, better throughput, and better redundancy.

  • a full backup system, with a 10Gb limit, free of charge through my work. (Backups done every night.)

  • latest greatest versions of all the software previously running on the server.

  • New gallery system online, which is much more comprehensive, and which allows for better uploads by users.  (Testing is still being done on this, but it will be up soon.)
