StF8 done and gone. What a successful comeback of a legendary (crappy) OP. Thanks to everyone that came and helped make this one of the best.

According to AirsoftGI, this TSD bolt-action rifle is among the best non-custom rifles they carry. With an FPS of 400, & only costing $170... I might just bite once I've got the cash.

Has anyone else got any experience with TSD rifles?

my brother has a TSD G36, but he hasnt owned it/used it enough to really be able to say anything.

I have heard they used to have weird internals, but have since been using standard gearboxes.

Dunno, I would like to think theyre good. Ive not heard anything bad.

I would take caution if considering purchasing. I would say that you need to find out what kind of internals are in it. Its sounds very similar to the UTG Type 96 as far as looks, price, and performance out of the box goes. 430fps out of the box sounds good, but if the internals aren't up to snuff then you will have a broken gun after just a little real usage. Talk to Pat and he'll tell you about the all of the ones he is fixing right now.

1+ for what ronin said and if you read the reviews they are very middle of the road. On airsoft gi thats bad because people on there like to jerk off on almost anything. The other matter of question is how easily is it to get replacement/upgrade parts for it? That alone could make or break this gun (no pun intended)

According to what I've read on AirsoftRetreat, the TSD and UTG are both rebrands of the Well 96. And there are some positive reviews about it.
One reviewer from AR also has this page:
http://groups.google.com/group/asgar/we ... yers-guide
where he reviews a bunch of sniper rifles including the TSD/UTG/Well 96.
According to him, the Well is the best of the Chinese Type 96s.

You may also want to look into the JG BAR-10, the same reviewer has a 64 page thread about it on AR, and it looks very promising:

That JG BAR-10 looks pretty good, actually. I'm really just looking for a placeholder rifle until I can get my Reaper.

I'm impressed. The reviewer seemed to really love it and put it above a vsr thats a tough one to beat because the vsr is one of the best especially for the price! That being said this is plainly a straight copy of the vsr explaining the awesome factor.

Dammit as if I need to be spending more $$. Thanks alot cheech.

On second thought it's just easier to blame everything on jake :P

Ok... so i got the tsd l96 and i have to say.. It rocks! I have shot a lot of bolt action airsoft rifles and this.. is one of the top!
The fact that it is so easy to pull back the bolt is great... and the high fps? 2 mags? 3x9x40 scope? great deal! this gun beats the
Cyber gun Mauser (in my opinion)
